In Search of the Hodag
We set out north from Iola in search of a vicious beast. It may spit fire, it may have three sets of teeth. We aren't sure because we forgot what Google told us. It's said to be a Hoax, but we believe it may be real. We're traveling to the home of the Hodag, maybe it's only home, in Rhinelander WI

Iola, Wisco. Is that snow?
We woke up at 5am today for no good reason. Then played with my 2yo niece, Ayah and took a nap at 9. We should probably adjust our sleeping schedule to make the most of daylight. We spent most of midday destination shopping Farm & Fleet and groceries! Meanwhile, Kelly unknowingly blew off her unemployment hearing. Great, just great. But now that we have metal cups and hunting gloves and extra socks, I think we can actually get this show on the road!
We drove up to Steven's Point for dinner with Hillary and went to an awesome dance show by a Chicago company, strangely enough. A short drive to Iola and we're staying in an adorable A-frame on a lake. Breakfast in a rowboat tomorrow! It's getting colder and there's been wary talk of snow. But we are ready to build igloos, so bring it on!

Kelly and I have landed in Madison, Wisconsin for the official first night of our funemployment road trip jubilee 2010. It was quite an arduous day that began with a simulation of sleeping in the Golf and subsequently borrowing a tent and ended with a sweet potato and computer party on my sister's floor looking up hodag pictures. Tomorrow's agenda includes a few items we should have checked off today (or yesterday), like grocery shopping and a trip to Farm and Fleet. We'll head north a few hours to see my friend Hillary and row around a lake while we wait for a certain person's passport to overnight itself to us so we can leave the country. Check our itinerary flowchart and send us juicy recommendations for daytrips and roadside enchantments along the way!
